Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a family of musicians. As a child, she was exposed to lots of classical music and traditional boleros. In addition, she was a fan of traditional romantic ballads and ranchero. Ana enjoys tangos and opera and dramatic performances. She was taught by her mother to sing, but she began more intensive singing lessons through Flavio Belcerra at 16 when Belcerra was an internationally acclaimed Mexican opera Tenor. The training in music continued at the School of Music of Guadalajara University. Later, she attended the School of Sacred Music of Toluca. In her early career, she included performances with a variety of opera choruses, chamber groups and chamber groups in Guadalajara. Following her move in California in United States in 2000, she sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus before moving to her present residence in southern California. She currently is a part of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and often performs as a soloist with traditional Latin American music at private performances. Her love and passion in music, art and performing keep her engaged with many local organizations as a teacher and performer. Ana was also a member of the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is presently a professor at The Performance Loft. Ana appreciates being able to share her love and enthusiasm for traditional Latin American songs with others and, in the process hopes to impart a desire, especially among younger generations in order to keep this tradition alive.Viva Mexico!
